Breaking Ground



Tues 18 Aug Felix and George from Malawi started work digging the swale on the middle contour. I got called baas and had to explain that I am not baas, I am Nick. We brought in 2 tons of horse manure and mulch to finish off the compost. One of these days we will have a garden . . . Off to meet the neighbours today, they are key stakeholders and I need to dicsuss the driveway and dumping 30sqm of compost on their empty plot as our plot has no veeehicle access right now. I quite like having no vehicle access but it wont last for long.

News

We are developing an Urban permaculture model / market garden to produce Heritage and Heirloom seed, and to provide a training and networking venue. Oh yeah and some organic veggies for the neighbourhood.

8 August Turned compost
9 August Assembled water tank stand, Set up dumpy level for the first time and marked out the centre swale to establish bed shapes. Designed beds. Planning session for August
